WHY DO I NEED A SURVEY?

The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, specifically Regulation 4, requires an employer to identify and manage asbestos within the workplace.

The Duty to Manage in Non-Domestic Premises is the responsibility of the person with overall accountability for the maintenance and upkeep of any non-domestic premises.

WHAT MATERIALS MAY CONTAIN ASBESTOS?

Dated floor tiles, textured coatings, insulation boards, pipe lagging, fuse boxes and roofing materials.

SHOULD I GET A SURVEY IF I AM RENOVATING A PROPERTY?

This is a legal requirement under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and Construction, Design & Management Regulations 2007 before any work can commence on site. It is strongly advised to have the survey undertaken as early as possible in the process, as certain asbestos materials are categorised as licensed by the Health and Safety Executive, which require a 14 day notification period which is mandatory along formal notification of any other works to be carried out.

IS SAMPLING INCLUDED WITHIN THE FEE?

Yes, our fee is fully inclusive and subject to VAT.

WHAT TYPE OF REPORT DO I RECEIVE?

You receive a fully written, detailed report as to what was found with photographic evidence and full recommendations.

WHEN WILL THE REPORT BE READY?

Within 3 – 4 working days from the survey, as we use an independent UKAS accredited laboratory for checking the samples taken for asbestos materials.
