What is an Asbestos Management Survey?
The management survey is the standard survey for buildings. It is carried out to find out whether any asbestos is present and, if so, to make recommendations to remove or manage any asbestos-containing materials (ACMs).
Any building built before 1999 needs an asbestos survey, because that is when the use of asbestos in construction was banned in the UK. The aim is to make sure no harm comes from any ACMs, and that any present are in good condition and not accidentally disturbed.
What Happens?
During the survey an assessor will sample and analyse any potential ACMs, and look for anything that could indicate the presence of asbestos. Any items presumed to contain ACMs are also assessed.
Once the management survey is finished, our team will provide:
