What is an Asbestos Management Survey?
As the standard survey for buildings, these are carried out on a property to investigate if there is any asbestos present. If there is, then recommendations can be made to remove or manage any ACMs (Asbestos Containing Materials).
Any building that has been built before 1999 needs to have an asbestos survey carried out. This is because after this the use of the material in construction was banned in the UK. The aim of this type of survey is to make sure no harm comes from any ACMs and that if there are any present these are in a good condition and are not accidentally disturbed.
During the survey an accessor will sample and analyse any potential ACMs. Alongside this, they will look for anything that could indicate the presence of asbestos. If any items are presumed to contain ACMs, then these need to be assessed.
After a management survey has been finished one our team will compile the following:
- Asbestos Register
- Provide Advice and Recommendations
- Risk Assessment
You can find out more about managing your asbestos on the HSE website.
